The Commodore is to take control of the operation of the Club, preside at all Trustee Committee, Management Committee and General meetings, enforce the Club By-Laws and regulations, ensure that the Club operates efficiently and effectively, and promotes the Club's interests. The Commodore is the recognized Agent for the Joint Stock Companies.

 | Vice Commodore (Yard Operations)

The Vice Commodore is to assist the Commodore in the discharge of his or her duties and, in the Commodores absence or inability to act, take his or her place. The 2208/2009 Vice Commodore will also be responsible for the yard operations at DYC.

The Rear Commodore is to asist the Commodore and Vice Commodore in the performance of their duties,and, in their absence, act in the stead. The Rear Commodore is to ensure that activities related to the club's sail racing program, regattas, and the other activities specifically related to sailing are carried out. |

The Secretary/Treasurer is responsible to ensure that the following duties are carried out in a timely matter. He/she may delegate these tasks to the club's employed staff, the General Manager and/or office staff as deemed appropriate.
(a) that all records pertaining to membership, yacht registration, liability insurance and Club corespondence are maintained correctly. To vet all applications for membership, initiate correspondence pertaining to club business and personnel matters, and maintain minutes of all General and Management committe meetings. In the event that the Recording Secretary is absent, ensure that the minutes are recorded, as well as ensuring the correspondence of all sub-committees and properly maintained.(b) to oversee the accounting of all Club monies received and dispersed. He or she, in concert with the Management Committe, is to ensure that an annual budget is prepared, and, with the club's auditors, produce the annual audited financial statements. He/she shall also supervise the preparation of balance sheets and income statements as requested by the Management Committee.

 | Fleet Captain Power ( Safety Chair)

The Fleet Captain is to assist the Commodore, Vice Commodore, and Rear Commodore in the performance of their duties. The Commodore may delegate specific responsibilities with respect to the operation of the club to Fleet Captains.
The Fleet Camptain shall make recommendations for the services provided and make recommendations for the good and welfare of the DYC on topics including but not restricted to membership, facilities, etc.
The Fleet Captain Power shall also act as Safety officer for DYC ensuring safe operations and practices. |

The Commodore may delegate specific responsibilities with respect to the operation of the club to Fleet Captains.Responsible for the operation and promotion of the Jr Sail program at DYC.

Dan brings a wealth of experience to the position as a retired naval officer. Dan also has his Master of Science in Management and a Bachelor of Engineering, Civil. In his spare time Dan enjoys golfing and being a handy-man around the house. |
